We used our Japan rail pass to go to Nara today to visit the temple. The city of Nara is full of deer, I believe they are sacred. They are very friendly and beautiful and come right up to you and you can pet them or feed them little crackers that they sell… This one

Here’s some video of my friends ringing in the new year in Tokyo. We all met at a temple shrine and sat by a fire till midnight, then people got in a long line and took turns ringing a bell. It was very cool.
